In Ayurveda, this science of more than 5,000 years old, body, heart, soul and spirit are in constant communication. One can not live or feel something without others being affected by it.
We are seeing it more and more in our modern society with stress.
Take, for example, your son or your friend who is in a stressful situation. This situation can bring its share of undesirable effects; constipation or diarrhea, increased heart rate and blood pressure, difficulty concentrating, insomnia, etc.
Another example: You meet this same son or friend but this time, he tells you that he has just fallen passionately in love.
His eyes are bright, his complexion is radiant, he radiates joy and harmony, you want to be in his company because he seems to have an extraordinary energy. He seems in perfect health and can accomplish the impossible.
Two opposite examples that have a notable effect on the individual in question.
So we can conclude that what we see, what we touch, what we feel, all have an effect on our being in totality, either in the negative aspect or in a more positive one.
In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means the science of life. Ayuveda is understanding that each person is unique and has a lifestyle, a diet, exercises and different needs, specific to each one of them.
In sum, Ayurveda offers a personalized approach to health, and knowing your doshas (Vatta-Pitta-Kapha), allows you to make these choices in an enlightened way.
